COACHING
What I offer is spiritual life coaching, also known as soul coaching.
Soul Coaching is for people who are ready for change and willing to do things differently - to try a new approach. Life coaching requires a level of open mindedness and forward movement. Life coaching is often centered on a goal. The goal can be anything from navigating a significant life transition to setting a boundary and approaching a difficult conversation with a healthy mindset. At Rooted Life Sanctuary, I use the hand reading as the cornerstone of the coaching process. Often during the coaching relationship, I will refer back to the wisdom of the hands of the client. The goal of the client and the goal of the soul dance together.
What does adding spirituality to that mix look like? Well, that depends on the client, but simply speaking we will be focusing on bringing your higher self (your intuitive self / Godself / whatever name you feel comfortable using) and your inner children into your everyday life and giving them a voice in your experience that they may not have had before. There will be a focus on guiding you to identify your feelings in your body, feeling those feelings, validating and soothing your inner child, and using your higher self to better understand the feelings. If you are not familiar with the higher self or your inner children, that is okay as many people are not. As long as you come with an open mind, a willingness to be responsible for what you feel, say, and do, and a desire to expand and discover who YOU truly are at your core, then the rest - the higher self and the inner children will become known to you with me as your guide.
Some questions that may come to mind:
1. How often and where would we meet?
This truly depends on your needs and would be determined through an exploratory conversation. Some people might need to meet weekly, others biweekly, while others might benefit from once a month. In terms of where, I offer virtual coaching, but for those locally or willing to drive to my location, we would meet at my home office or, if the weather permits, we would meet somewhere where we could walk and talk. This latter option is what I more affectionately refer to as "Walks with Dom."
2. What is the difference between coaching and counseling/therapy?
Coaching is not designed to be the sole support for individuals with acute mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and other diagnosable conditions as outlined in the DSM-V. Coaching is not a replacement for the care and support provided by a licensed mental health practitioner. If a client has a dedicated therapist, then coaching can be an added support. Coaches may talk more than a therapist, and may also offer concrete homework (journaling prompts, body centered and feeling awareness exercises, etc.)
3. What is the next step?
The next step is to set up a 30-minute virtual complementary exploratory conversation. We will discuss your goals, and determine if our energy and styles are compatible. The choice to move forward in the coaching relationship is a mutual decision.
