REIKI

Reiki is a spiritual healing art. It is not massage, nor is it based on belief or suggestion. The session is performed by a Reiki Practitioner using specific Reiki hand positions. The reiki treatment can be hands-on or hands-off or even remote ("distance reiki") depending on the preference of the client. During a Reiki session, the client is fully clothed while comfortably reclining on a massage table or seated in a chair. A Reiki session aids in stress reduction and it is almost always a very relaxing experience. Reiki sessions are a great investment in yourself.

Reiki is

• A subtle and effective form of energy healing using spiritually guided life force energy (Rei-ki)

• Practiced in every country of the world

• Being used in many settings including hospitals, hospice, as well as in private practice and in self-care

• A wonderful complementary modality in a personal wellness or healing program

 

Reiki is not

• Affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice

• New. Reiki energy work itself is thousands of years old.

 

Defining qualities of Reiki

• A practice of transmitting healing energy through the hands

• Passed on through the attunement process

• The energy is not guided by the practitioner, but the energy has its own innate wisdom to guide itself.

• Reiki energy is not based on belief, faith, or suggestion.

A Reiki session may help ease tension and stress and may help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical, emotional, and spiritual. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is most often utilized for one’s own personal wellness.

MY REIKI SESSIONS - WHAT TO EXPECT

Currently, I offer distance (remote) Reiki sessions. 

​

Why distance and not in person reiki? I have come to find that I am better able to access the energies of a client without the distraction of the human body. I also have my own style of reiki - sometime, I might sing to move energy, or verbally call in herbs and crystals, and other healing bodies to assist in the session. I also work out of a home office. This extra noise and movement on my part can be distracting for the client. Distance reiki allows the client to do whatever is comfortable for them. Some clients might prefer to be in a relaxing space, some might not have the time or ability to do that, and some actually feel more comfortable being active while receiving. The choices are very personal and distance reiki allows for ALL choices.  

 

Before the session, I speak with the client at a mutually convenient time to answer questions and help understand the client's intention for the session; at this time, depending on the client's wishes, we can also set up a debrief meeting. At the agreed upon time for the session, I begin to serve as a guide for the reiki energies.

 

As I work, I make notes of images or thoughts that arise or areas in the body which called for particular attention. During a debrief session, a client is invited to share their experience of the reiki energies and if the client would like to know more about the impressions I received during the session, those too will be shared.
